Dr. Rashmi Saxena Rudainwal has been working since 2007 in the field of gender diversity, equality, equity and parity and has developed training modules on gender issues for various institutions. She is an alumnus of the GSVM Medical College, Kanpur from where she completed her MBBS in       1978. She specialized in Ophthalmology from the Armed Forces Medical College in 1987. In the last 36 years she has worked in the Ministry of Health Oman, the Indian Armed Forces and in the United Nations in Trinidad & Tobago. At present she is an Independent Consultant in Ophthalmology, HIV/AIDS and Drug Addiction and a social activist on child and gender issues.

As a resource person for “Gender sensitive trainings for TI (IDU) staff of State AIDS Control Societies of Manipur and Mizoram, her contribution in improving the health care delivery system in a safe working environment for females and males in remote rural areas was immense. She has also worked with marginalized groups effected by HIV/AIDS, substance abuse (addiction to alcohol, opiates, nicotine, licit pharmaceuticals etc.) and treating them with appropriate drugs, counseling and corrective behavior therapy.

Since the beginning of her career she has been intimately associated with various charitable organisations and has conducted free eye clinics for the economically deprived communities as well as free IOL cataract surgery for needy patients and managed terminally ill  patients. She has conducted medical camps and eye camps for jail inmates of Yerwada Jail, Pune, Maharashtra, India and even in remote villages of Kupwara district in Jammu & Kashmir which are constantly facing terrorist threats.

As a trainer at COHERE Consultants, she has developed her own unique style of connecting with the trainees in such  a way that learning becomes enjoyable and easy. She is  well apprised of  the laws on sexual harassment and  conducts workshops for employee training and HR training and is uniquely qualified for empanelment as an external member of the ICC.
